Limited Time Only

Limited Time Offer on Products and Services

You can take advantage of free product giveaways and limited time only product offerings if you keep your eyes open. A new company may offer a limited time only offer or a free product in order to get you through the door of their retail store or to get word of mouth started on a product in order to increase sales. Why shouldn’t you be one of those to try the product? You may have to take a survey or answer questions after you use the product but that is not such a big deal.

Sometimes a company will offer a free membership or a two-for-one membership or subscription to expand its client base. A three month gym membership will get you to the gym and if you like the service and the location and staff, you are likely to renew that membership.

So, while the limited time offer for a discounted or free membership may seem like a money-losing proposition for the company, in actuality it will get you into the gym and give the company a chance to make a good impression. That is the goal. If you had not taken the limited time offer you might never have considered the gym membership.

Some companies offer test products on their web site or through a catalogue. These limited product runs are designed to test a market and get feedback from the clients before the company spends a lot of money in mass production. If you get hooked on the product and the company decides not to produce it for the long run, you may be left wanting but that is a risk you will have to take to get a discounted or cheap product offering.

Recently, a credit card company offered a limited product for small business credit cards. Applications were reviewed and businesses might or might not get the card. When the company reached the maximum, it did not offer accounts to others. In this way, the company was able to test the market without issuing millions of credit cards. If the small business owner did not qualify for the limited product membership, the credit card company could still use the contact information to offer the small business owner other products that might be suitable for their use.

There are many creative ways for a business to leverage the urgency and psychological pressure of a limited time offer. If you do not need the products, don’t be seduced by the great offer. If you do need the products, and the pricing is as good as it seems, go for it. You may not get a second shot!
